you should probably play DMC 3 for context on the most motivated man alive, and maybe 4. Play 1 if you want the basic intro to the series. here is a timeline for every game in the series: DMC 3, DMC 1, DMC 2 (don't play DMC2), DMC 4, DMC 5. You should at least watch the history of DMC, it’s a short video that summarizes the timeline of the games.
Gameplay. Im trying to get into DMC starting by playing 1 but it really didnt catch me, i know that 3 is a prequel and has a really better gameplay, and i have seen that 1 and 2 stories are pretty simple and not that important, so i was thinking to just play 3 4 and 5, and since 3 is a prequel maybe i can engage better. Other devil hunters you coul probably just change q,e,f and the style switch buttons to whatever you want. I also use the side mouse button for things you need to hold during combat like Nero's charge shot And yes my left hand is very swole

Do I have to do anything to play as Vergil? (DMC5) So I literally just bought the PC version of DMC 5 and the Vergil DLC, but when I log in its just the base game. My steam says its installed, I'm just wondering if I have to play through the game again to access him? I have bought the dlc but it doesn't show the Vergil selection. Please help me.

There are three playable characters in the game’s story, the most ever outside of Special Editions of the game. Nero makes his return from DMC 4, V becomes a playable character, and there is no Devil May Cry without Dante. When I began DMC 4, I thought Nero was a pretty good character, albeit a direct downgrade from Dante in depth.
