had to replace the tcu, which is the transmission comp, goes together with the mechantronic unit. also it could be caused by a ruptured pressure cylinder in the mechantronic unit. with VW if something goes off it is usually the most expensive part. btw after this fix i had another transmission issue a year later, had to replace the entire
Even the 1.4 tsi can do 0-60 in 8 seconds which isn't amazing but isn't no slouch either. Tl;dr The MK7 looks to be more reliable than the mk6 and comes with more tech and generally better features. The MK6 can be had for much less and is still a great car if you don't care about the new tech.
