I currently have 51782985 fitted to a 2008 500 and when contacting Fiat for a replacement they quoted me for the 51867767 version. There is also an interim software version 51848079 which should also be a suitable replacement.
FIAT have on occasion employed a MECHANICAL fuel cut.off Its a button near the passenger Technical 2012 Fiat 500 Twin Air - Start/Stop Unavailable & Check Engine.

I have just bought a fiat 500 diesel which has had a front end bump. The car is now repaired but i just cant get it started. I know the fuel cut off went so i did the indicator reset thing but no joy. The 'fuel cut off' on the dash was still on. I then had the airbag ecu reset and did the indicator thing again. From the EVO manual: Door unlocking in the event of an accident If the fuel cut-off system activates following an accident, the doors will be automatically unlocked to allow access to the passenger compartment and the ceiling lights will be switched on at the same time. The doors can always be opened from the inside of the car

2. Jul 26, 2016. #1. Hello, I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me with a problem I'm currently experiencing relating to my Fiat 500 (1.2 L). The dashboard warning lights for the air bags, seat belts and stop start function are constantly showing. In addition, when I first turn the engine on its showing the message "fuel cut off There is a procedure involving the use of the indicators in sequence (see page 40) for resetting the fuel cut-off after an accident but that doesn't seem to be the case here. You could try that procedure but don't expect much! Sadly it may need to go onto examiner. Hope it's covered by the warranty. EEdr0.
