Seeking help/info on a problem with my van. It's a 57 plate 1.6 HDI. For some weeks now had a problem with it stalling. I had intermittent problems with speedo not working with slight reduction in power when it did that but power would come back when speedo started working again!You could still encounter problems with the engine light if the valve fails. As for a real world answer it will stop no end of rubbish entering your engine, personally if I had a brand new 1.6 hdi I would blank it off and remove the DPF on day 1.
P1351 is a glow plug relay fault code on most systems, U1003 is "can bus absent" code, no can bus comms will cause a no start if the ECU and BSI cannot communicate to authorise the key transponder. That's the more serious one. 0504 is a brake pedal sensing fault, but usually restricted to auto gearbox equipped cars.

Sensor on its own is about same cost as quoted above (~£20 or so) housing with thermostat and sensor complete isn't much more.Reputation: 0. #1. 03-06-2021, 08:35 AM. I have a 2006 1.6 HDI. From time to time the red overheating symbol and "STOP" flashes up on the dash along with the beeping alarm. In my year's ownership (and c. 8000 miles) the engine has never overheated - if anything it runs on the cool side. Coolant is full and does not change.
