I was about to order some oil for my gearbox and looked at some helpful posts about filling via the breather under the black cap. I went and had a look but no black cap. My Ducato is a late 2016 registered Jan 2017, its a left hooker 2.3 multijet 150bhp Manual. From reading on here I have figured out its a M40 Gearbox. Found a small oil leak from one of the driveshafts a few weeks ago ( 2018 Ducato 2.3) so took it to our local Fiat Professional and they replaced the seal. Great. Took the van home and it has been parked for just over a week on the lawn. I moved it on Saturday and found an oil patch on the grass, about 4 inches across.

Apr 25, 2022. #3. Get the oil/ filter changed soon as. Oil has been changing over the years, for new engines very much for the better. There was a time when synthetics were not preferred for old engines as they hardened oil seals, but not anymore. Your engine is also later than Zn reductions so Don't worry about that.
If however, it ran for a long way with no pressure, you would have some serious damage. If it is a turbo motor, the turbo will probably be knackered. In my experience, a motor should not seize after such a limited time with no pressure. The residual oil is enough protection for quite a while - except for the turbo.
