Had a 1.9 TDI golf before, not as nippy accelerating, but cruises nicely on the motorway and haven't felt short of power even with a car packed full of baby paraphernalia. The 1.9 Golf was a bit breathless – loads of noise but didn’t actually accelerate too well. I loved my Golf but the Octy is way better than i expected. If it was my money i’d get a 2.0
The 2.0 TDI engine belongs to the EA188 family. This engine is the redeveloped 1.9-liter TDI engine. The 2.0-liter TDI was the first Volkswagen diesel engine with four valves per cylinder used in 2004 Golf, Passat, and another vehicle. The cylinder block is made of gray cast iron.
